Accessibility statement
The operator of Asistenca.si is committed to making the Asistenca.si portal accessible to all users, including persons with disabilities, in accordance with the Slovenian Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications (ZDSMA, Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia No. 30/18) and the standard SIST EN 301 549. Development follows the WCAG 2.2 guidelines at level AA.
This statement applies to the whole Asistenca.si website, including when it is added to a phone or computer home screen as an app.
Compliance status
The website is partially compliant with ZDSMA due to the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.
What we have done for accessibility
- The layout adapts to phones, tablets and computers; content remains readable when zoomed in the browser.
- All links, buttons and forms can be used with a keyboard, the focused element is clearly highlighted, and every page starts with a “Skip to content” link.
- Text and background colours have a contrast of at least 4.5:1. When the operator changes the portal colours, they are automatically adjusted to the required contrast.
- The Display (Aa) button in the header offers larger text, high contrast, an easier-to-read font, underlined links and more line spacing. Your choice is remembered.
- Basic information about the portal is available in easy-to-read Slovenian.
- Headings, lists, form labels, error messages and new chat messages are marked up so that screen readers announce them correctly. The page language is marked (Slovenian or English).
- The listings map has an accessible alternative: a list of municipalities with listings below the map, and search by municipality.
- Bot protection does not require solving visual or audio puzzles; the check runs automatically in the browser.
- There are no auto-playing sounds, videos or flashing content, and there are no time limits for completing forms.
Non-accessible content
Non-compliance with ZDSMA
- The listings map (OpenStreetMap) is not fully usable with a screen reader or keyboard. The same information is available in the “List of municipalities with listings” below the map and in search.
- Testing with screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack) has not yet been carried out for all pages and processes, so some issues not detected by automated testing may exist — please let us know.
- Slovenian Sign Language: information about the portal is not yet available in Slovenian Sign Language.
- The English version covers the public part of the portal; the user profile, messages and easy-to-read pages are available in Slovenian only.
Content outside the scope of ZDSMA
- Content published by users (listings, profile descriptions, messages, reviews) is written by the users themselves and is not developed or fully controlled by the operator. We encourage users to write in clear and simple language.
- OpenStreetMap map tiles are third-party content.
Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on 28 October 2026 on the basis of a self-assessment by the operator:
- automated testing with axe-core (WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 rules, levels A and AA) on key public pages, with no violations found;
- review of the layout on screens of different widths and at the largest text size.
We review the statement at least once a year and after major changes to the portal. Last reviewed: 28 October 2026.
