Terms of use
Version 2026-10. By registering and using the Asistenca.si portal you accept these terms. Please read them carefully, together with the privacy policy, before registering.
1. Operator and purpose of the portal
The Asistenca.si portal is operated by The operator of Asistenca.si (the operator). The portal is a free place where the following can connect:
- users of personal assistance under the Slovenian Personal Assistance Act (ZOA), their family members and legal representatives,
- personal assistants,
- personal assistance providers (institutes, associations and other organisations).
2. What the portal is and is not
- The portal enables publishing profiles and listings, searching and a safe first contact. It is not a personal assistance provider, not an employer and not a party to agreements or contracts you conclude with other users.
- The portal does not decide on eligibility for personal assistance, the number of hours or payment. This is decided by the competent authority, and you sign the service contract with the provider you choose.
- The portal does not select, recommend or assess candidates on your behalf. The decision about whom you work with is always yours.
- Using the portal is free of charge.
3. User account
- An account can be created by an adult. For a person who cannot conclude an agreement themselves, the account may be created and used by their legal representative, who is responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the data entered and for acting on behalf of the represented person.
- When registering, you choose a role (user, assistant or provider). You must provide truthful information; impersonation is not allowed.
- You are responsible for your password and access to your account. We recommend two-step login (My profile → Account and security). Notify us immediately if you suspect misuse of your account.
- A provider account can be used by several team members invited by the main account. Team members act on behalf of the provider, who is responsible for their conduct on the portal.
4. Profiles and listings
- A moderator reviews every new or changed profile and listing before publication and may approve it, reject it with reasons, or request additional information.
- You decide whether your profile is publicly visible. The portal and the map show only the municipality, never an address.
- Contact details (phone, email) become visible to another user only after you accept their connection request or they accept yours. Therefore, do not put them in the text of your profile or listing.
- Listings are published for a limited time; we remind you before they expire and you can extend them.
- Listings must relate to personal assistance or work in it. Job listings must comply with employment regulations and must not be discriminatory.
- Do not publish health data or information about special needs in public descriptions. Your profile has a private field for this that only you can see.
5. Prohibited conduct
The following is not allowed on the portal:
- offering or seeking work contrary to regulations (e.g. work without a contract, undeclared work, payment outside the prescribed channels);
- harassment, insults, threats, hate speech or discrimination;
- impersonation, creating several accounts for the same person or circumventing a block or measure;
- publishing other people's personal data without their consent;
- collecting users' contact details for other purposes, sending advertising or content unrelated to personal assistance;
- using bots or automated data collection, circumventing limits or interfering with the operation and security of the portal.
6. Connection requests and messages
- Contact starts with a connection request. Once the other side accepts it, a conversation opens and contact details become visible to both.
- The number of requests and messages is limited to protect against abuse.
- You can block a user at any time; a blocked user can no longer send you requests or messages. You can report inappropriate content or conduct to the moderators.
- Portal staff do not read private messages.
- A request that the recipient does not answer for a longer period expires automatically.
7. Verification badges and reviews
- The verified provider badge means that we have checked the provider's entry in the official register. The verified assistant badge means that we have reviewed proof of training for personal assistance; the document is deleted after review.
- A badge is not a guarantee of the quality of work or of a person's conduct. Check the relevant information and documents yourself before working together.
- After working together for a certain period, users can review a provider. Reviews are checked by a moderator before publication and are published without the author's name. A review must be based on genuine experience.
8. Moderation and measures
- The operator may reject, withdraw or delete content that breaches these terms or the law, and may temporarily suspend or delete an account. Content with several reports may be withdrawn automatically pending review.
- We will inform you of a measure with reasons, unless this would endanger other users or an investigation.
- If you disagree with a decision, write to us: via the contact page.
9. Safety and liability
- You are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the content you publish. The operator does not check all information and does not guarantee the accuracy of other users' content.
- The operator is not a party to agreements between users and is not liable for their performance, the quality of services, payments or damage arising from working together, unless the law provides otherwise.
- We recommend: arrange the first meeting in a public place or with a trusted person present, do not send passwords, bank details or money in advance, and sign a written contract with the right provider.
- We aim to keep the portal running without interruption but cannot guarantee that it will always be available. It may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance.
10. Rights to content
- The rights to content you publish remain yours. You grant the operator a free, non-exclusive right to display it on the portal and in link previews when a listing is shared, for as long as it is published.
- The design, software and texts of the portal belong to the operator or their authors.
11. Personal data protection
We process data in accordance with the privacy policy. In My profile → Privacy and data you can download your data or delete your account at any time. Inactive accounts are deleted after 30 months of inactivity; we remind you by email beforehand.
12. Ending use
- You can delete your account yourself at any time. Deletion removes your profile, listings and contact details; the content of your messages in conversations with others is deleted.
- The operator may discontinue the portal and will inform users in advance.
13. Changes to the terms
We may change these terms when the operation of the portal or regulations change. We will inform you of substantive changes at your next login, when you confirm the new terms. If you do not agree, you can delete your account.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Slovenia. We will first try to resolve any dispute amicably — write to us: via the contact page. If this is not successful, the competent court in the Republic of Slovenia has jurisdiction; consumers retain the rights granted to them by law.
15. Contact
Send questions about these terms to: via the contact page.
These terms apply from 28 October 2026.
